HOW DOES MUSIC AFFECT CHEMICAL PROCESSES IN THE BRAIN?
According to research published in the Science Daily magazine, it has been shown that music has a beneficial effect in releasing neurotransmitters in the human brain and in visibly improving cranial blood flow, as well as in the structural development of brain parts in children, whether your favorite artist is Beethoven or Eminem.
In this year’s workshop, participants will have the opportunity to interactively examine the effectiveness of this method for the purpose of improving daily activities, as well as the effect of the method in reducing anxiety and symptoms of depression.
Applications will be soon, and the number of participants is limited.
Workshop leader: Doc. dr sc. med.Nermina Kravić
NEUROONKOLOGY: NEUROSURGEONS TREATMENT OF THE BRAIN TUMOR
Neuro-oncology involves the treatment of all types of tumor processes on adults and children. This is a topic that is discussed on a daily basis in the field of medicine and should extend knowledge about neuroscience itself.
The participants of this workshop will not only be introduced to new things, but will be able to watch the surgery itself.
The workshop is being held as part of the Tuzla Brain Week International Congress and if you want to experience something amazing then join our great team. We are waiting for you!
Workshop leader: Prof.dr.sc. Mirsad Hodžić
BRAIN DISEASES – BRAIN PATHOLOGY
The participants of this workshop, which is being implemented as part of the Tuzla Brain Week project, will be given the opportunity to listen and learn something new about brain pathology.
Introductory lectures on this topic alone will not take much time, but will prepare participants for further workshop programs.
The program of the workshop in this field, in addition to lectures, includes presentation of preparation of preparations for pathohistological analysis, and review of preparations of brain of different pathology in different brain diseases and case presentation. If you are interested in improving your knowledge in this area and want to expand your perspectives, become a part of the Tuzla Brain Week team.
Workshop leader: Prof. dr. med. sc. Ermina Iljazović
NEUROPSHYSIOLOGY IN CLINICAL PRACTICE
Many activities and visits to various offices at the neurology clinic are planned for the participants of this workshop, where various diagnostic procedures are performed.
Visits to the following premises are planned: EEG Office (Electroencephalography), EP Cabinet (Evoked Potentials), EMNG (electromyoneurography) cabinet, Doppler sonography cabinet
Video EEG Surveillance Cabinet.

BRAIN INJURIES – ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT
How to act when we notice a person who has suicidal ideas and thoughts?
Want to help and save someone’s life?
The answers to these questions are only part of this year’s topic in the Tuzla Brain Week project. Bring your knowledge and capabilities to the next level and apply and listen to more about epi attacks, strokes, head traumas, skull fractures, disorders of consciousness, panic attacks and other multiple brain injuries. Learn how to provide immediate medical attention with special attention to medical treatment.
In addition to the theoretical part about all the usual, there is an opportunity to observe and participate in the practical presentation of the management of injuries to the head and spine, as well as work with markers. If you want to be a part of this interesting and educational workshop, sign up and complete your knowledge in this field with Tuzla Brain Week.

PHYSICAL THERAPY: HOPE AFTER BRAIN STROKE
Prevention is a basic task that we as health care professionals must deal with, but when the problem occurs, our task is to reduce the effects that pathological processes leave on the human body and contribute to the best recovery and restoration of the integrity of somatic functions.
Although stroke recovery is highly individual, physiatrycs as a branch of medicine is crucial in improving the quality of life for as much as the patient’s clinical condition after an acute condition allows.
Workshop leader: Doc.dr.sc. Amela Čičkušić
THE EFFECTS OF HYPERBARIC OXYGEN ON BRAIN FUNCTIONS AND BRAIN MICROSTRUCTURE
One of the controversies in medicine is the use of hyperbaric oxygen in various neurological diseases. The importance and role of baromedicine has been aknowledged, and visible results are being achieved, but how aware are we of its role in rehabilitation ?!
Many are unfamiliar with how this method is performed, what are the options in patient recovery and the advancement of medicine when talking about innovations in therapeutic treatment.
As a part of the expert workshop at the Irac Polyclinic, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to apply the method and see the effects of the hyperbaric chamber.
NEONATAL CRANIAL ULTRASOUND STANDARD VIEWS
Interested in newborn ultrasound? Tuzla Brain Week this year provides an opportunity to participate in a workshop on this topic. Participants in this workshop will be able to expand their knowledge of standard views in the field of neonatal cranial ultrasound diagnostics. The first step will be a short introductory lecture on neurological status in pediatrics.
Newborn brain ultrasound in daily clinical practice, with the possibility of repeated examinations in an incubator, has been a major step forward in the diagnosis and treatment of a compromised neonate over the past 20 years. Without ultrasound, the work of neonatologists of intensivists, but also of pediatricians and neuro-pediatricians is unthinkable today. Through the further work of the workshop, you will be introduced to the physiological and pathological reflexes in newborns and also the technique of ultrasound through the infant’s anterior fontanelle.
Master your knowledge in this area and become part of the great Tuzla Brain Week team.
Workshop leaders: Prof.dr.med.sc Fahrija Skokić, mr. med.sci Sabina Salkanović-Delibegović
3D PRINTING IN MEDICINE
Are we actually aware of the progress of medicine? Get up-to-date with science in this year’s Tuzla Brain Week and learn about 3D printing in medicine
Together with future mechanical engineers, make extraordinary examples of human organs, and all you need is imagination.
Today, this method is widely used in the world to damage a larger surface of the skin where 3D printers produce skin grafts, real organs and tissues for drug and vaccine testing, 3D bone printing, 3D prosthetic limbs, organ printing, etc.
With the use of 3D printers, scientists expect that in the next 5 to 10 years they will be able to print organs at far cheaper prices, and completely eliminate long waiting lists for transplants, black market organs, and of course, eliminate a large number of deaths.
Push your boundaries in science and come to this year’s Tuzla Brain Week!
