Amra Nadarević-Vodenčarević has graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Tuzla in 2010 and since then has been working at the University Clinical Center in Tuzla – Laboratory for Laboratory Diagnostics – Department of Pathology as a Doctor of Medicine. In February 2016, she defended her master’s thesis “Diagnosis and treatment of refractive errors in preschool and school children” at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo. Since 2016 she has been working at the JZNU DZ TUZLA as a specialist doctor, ophthalmologist.
She is the author and co-author of 2 papers published in the current competition as well as 14 papers published in other bases. She is the BiH Representative for Young Ophthalmologists at the European Society of Ophthalmology and in 2017, at the General Assembly in Barcelona, was elected from 30 national representatives among the top 5 young ophthalmologists on the SOE YO Committee. She was also a member of the ARVO (Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology) Youth Committee.
She is the recipient of a SOE grant as well as an ESCRS grant and is particularly distinguished by the 2016 Developing Countries Fellowship awarded by the ARVO Association in Seattle, Washington, as well as an award for one of the best works at the German Ophthalmologist Congress she received in Berlin 2016. In addition, Nadarevic-Vodencarevic was a prominent athlete, multiple BiH champion and national team player, and later a state swimming judge.
